New sandals? Wait
Although the urge to wear your new acquisitions immediately after passing the body is irresistible, do not succumb to temptation. Even if they seem comfortable at first, after an hour, you could start to feel the straps irritate your skin, which has not rubbed leather (or faux leather) for months. Also avoid wearing a new pair of sandals to walk a long distance before taking the time to soften. You may note (and feel) blisters. You may also experience muscle pain since your body has not accustomed to wearing sandals.

Break and relax
To “break” your sandals, take a walk around your home to relax. Walk on all kinds of surfaces: asphalt, gravel, grass, etc. Then remove them and walk barefoot (in the house) to relax your feet.

To relax the leather faster, there is the thing of the freezer. You read that right! In a large resealable plastic bag specially designed for freezing, put water to 1/4 of the bag, about. Slide the bag filled with water in the sandal and put it in the freezer overnight. The water turns to ice will expand, and thereby stretch the straps of your sandals. It also works for shoes.

To prevent blisters, a simple trick: rub a bar of soap on the areas of the foot where the sandal straps are more likely to irritate the skin of the toes, foot, ankle and heel. This will help to stretch the leather and minimize friction with the skin. Note that this trick only works with leather (not artificial leather).

Since prevention is better than cure, wear bandages before putting on your sandals, for the purpose of anticipating the irritation: on the heel side of the foot, top, short, wherever sandal rub against the foot.

Good sandals
Several sandals, if not the majority, are endowed with an insufficiently padded plantar support, making them inadequate to walk for a long period of time, with the exception of those specifically designed for hiking. Wear sandals (and shoes) suitable for your business.

Since the sandals will be the basis of all your summer outfits, provided they are comfortable. Do not hesitate to add soles (and half-soles) to overcome the lack of support or cushioning. Your sandals will be even more beautiful if they are comfortable to wear. Besides that you want those more often, which will maximize your investment!
